Initial work on lithium battery technology began in 1912, but in 1970, before the first lithium batteries were offered for sale. This original battery cannot be charged. Work on developing rechargeable lithium batteries began in 1980. The consumer electronics giant Sony was the pioneer of the first commercially available lithium-ion battery.

This battery technology is now widely used, and electric motors are the latest applications.

Lithium-ion batteries are rechargeable electric bicycles that allow vehicles to go at speeds of up to 32 km / h in distances of up to 60 km. The battery itself is low maintenance and can only be charged a few cents a day. As a result, electric bicycles with lithium-ion batteries can be marketed at higher gasoline prices.

Many people like electric motors because this helps make the "greener" lifestyle possible by travelling with electricity instead of fossil fuels. Environmentally friendly bicycles also include batteries.

Lithium-ion batteries cause pollution and environmental damage if disposed of by colleagues based on lead or cadmium. The US government classifies these batteries as harmless and hence for disposal in standard solid waste facilities.

However, for recycling, lithium-ion batteries are used which still contain usable materials. This means recycling old batteries and not throwing them away makes the environment safer!
